Husnaas' Mini Pizza Pinwheels

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!

This recipe is for Husnaas' Mini Pizza Pinwheels. They were made by a good friend and ex-roommate of mine. They are a sort of savoury Swiss roll made with puff pastry. The pinwheels are extremely easy to make, and perfect as a starter or a snack. The ingredients are very few so I hope you will give this recipe a try, inshallah!

A Simple List of Ingredients:

1. Cooked Keema Mixture
2. Puff Pastry
3. Tomato Pizza Sauce
4. Cheese
5. Beaten Egg

Bismillah, let's start!

Take any leftover keema (mince) mixture you have. Husnaas' had keema, mint, spices and onions - but you can make it however you like.

Next, take a block of defrosted puff pastry, and roll it out into a large rectangle. Be careful not to roll it out too thin or it will be very difficult to roll up later. Also, it is easier to cut the pastry block first.

Spread thinly with the tomato sauce. Husnaa used Asda pizza topper.

Top with some keema mixture.

Sprinkle with grated cheese.

And, roll!

Take a beaten egg.

The ends should stick down easily (unless you've filled it too much!),  but just brush it all with the beaten egg to secure it and give it shine.

You can put it in the fridge for a while to firm up,  or if it's okay, you can just start cutting the roll/s into slices.

Place the slices slightly apart on a baking tray and brush the tops with more beaten egg.

Bake in a preheated oven at Gas Mark 6 (200ÂșC) until golden brown.

Serve, and watch them disappear fast!

Wasalaam!
