Peanut Butter and Chocolate Chunk Cookies

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!

This recipe is for Peanut Butter and Chocolate Chunk Cookies. These are really easy to make, and have that sweet and salty combination which reminds me of my sweet and salty chocolate bars. I would definitely recommend these cookies to everyone especially if you are a fan of chocolate or peanut butter!

A Simple List of Ingredients:

1. Plain Flour
2. Sugar
3. Brown Sugar
4. Chocolate
5. An Egg
6. Crunchy Peanut Butter
7. Salt
8. Unsalted Butter
9. Vanilla Flavouring
10. Bicarbonate of Soda

Bismillah, let's bake!

Preheat the oven to Gas Mark 5 or 190 degrees C.

To start, place 12 ounces (1 and 1/2 cups) plain flour into a bowl.

Add 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda.

Stir everything together well to combine, and then set aside.

Next, place 4 ounces (1/2 cup) softened unsalted butter into a mixer bowl. I use a Kitchen Aid mixer but you could do this by hand.

Add 4 ounces (1/2 cup) brown sugar.

Add 4 ounces (1/2 cup) sugar.

Cream the butter and sugars together until creamy and well combined.

Add one egg and 1 teaspoon vanilla flavouring.

Mix everything until well combined.

Add 3 tablespoons crunchy peanut butter. You could use smooth peanut butter but I like the crunchy one.

Mix well.

Add the flour mixture from earlier.

Mix until just combined.

Next, take 16 ounces (2 cups) chocolate chunks. I used a mixture of milk and plain chocolate and cut them into chunks with a sharp knife, but you could use chocolate chips too.

Throw in the chocolate chunks.

Mix until well combined.

Place the dough in cookie shapes onto a greased and lined baking tray. You could use a spoon to do this but I like to use an ice cream to get an even size.

Next, flatten the cookies down with the back of a fork.

Bake in the preheated oven at Gas Mark 5 (190 degrees C) for 10 minutes or until lightly golden brown. Allow to cool in the tray before moving.

Serve with tea or coffee for a great treat, or give out as gifts!

Hazrat Abu Hurayra (ra) reported that the Prophet Muhammad (saw) said,
"Give gifts to one another, and you will love one another."
