Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Who doesn't love a good burger?
I remember when I was little we would have sandwiches called kebab sandwiches. These were essentially round, spicy kebabs, salad, cheese and yoghurt sandwiched together between slices of white bread or bread rolls.
Now, I realise they were our idea of a burger! Burgers are such a personal thing - everyone has their own favourite combinations. I can't stand raw onion, for example, but some people love them.
Anyways, this recipe for Caramelized Onion Burgers was one that I tried last year. The onions are the best part of this burger - they're so sweet and caramelized and you should definitely not leave these out.

Burgers, previously: Chicken Spinach Burgers, Spicy Lemon Chicken Burger, Moroccan Lamb Burger Wraps.
Ingredients needed are onions, olive oil, butter, salt, black pepper, sugar, lamb mince, paprika, garlic powder, red chilli powder, dried oregano, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, mustard, mayo, burger buns, cheese and salad.
Bismillah, let's begin!
First, get started on the caramelized onions. These need to cook low and slow so get them on first. Peel and thinly slice 2 Large Onions.
Heat up 2 tablespoons of Olive Oil and 2 tablespoons of Butter. Don't leave the butter out - it's where the flavour is! And, do not use margarine!
Once melted, add in the sliced onions.
Sprinkle in 1 teaspoon of Sugar, Salt and Black Pepper, to taste.
Stir well and leave to cook on a low to medium heat for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. We want the onions to be golden brown and soft.
Next, the burger mix. Take 1 pound of Minced Lamb. Use chicken instead, if you want.
Add in 2 tablespoons of Paprika.
Salt and Black Pepper, to taste
1/2 teaspoon of Garlic Powder
1/2 tablespoon of Dried Oregano
1/2 teaspoon of Red Chilli Powder
1 tablespoon of Worcestershire Sauce
4 Garlic Cloves, peeled and finely chopped
Mix well until well combined. It's best to use clean hands for this in order to get everything well blended together.
Next, make a quick sauce for the burgers. Take 1/2 teaspoon of Mustard.
Squeeze in 2 tablespoons of Mayo.
Stir well and feel free to add ketchup or chilli sauce too.
Shape the minced lamb into patties and fry until golden brown and cooked through.
The onions should be done by now too!
Once the patties are cooked ..
.. top with slices of Cheddar. Cover for a few minutes to melt.
Split burger buns in half, and toast under the grill.
Spread with the sauce.
Place on the lamb burger along with a dollop of the caramelized onions.
A slice of tomato
Lettuce
Top with the other half.
And, dig in!
