Vanilla Tray Bake With Chocolate Ganache

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!

This recipe is for a Vanilla Tray Bake with Chocolate Ganache. It is such a simple recipe but the outcome is amazing! For any first-time bakers or anybody with not much time on their hands, this cake is perfect!

A Simple List of Ingredients:

1. Margarine
2. Caster Sugar
3. Eggs
4. Vanilla Flavouring
5. Self-Raising Flour
6. Double Cream
7. Milk Chocolate
8. Dark Chocolate

Bismillah, let's start!

Preheat the oven to Gas Mark 4.

Place 6 ounces softened margarine into a large bowl. Soften by heating in the microwave for 20 seconds.

Add 6 ounces caster sugar.

Whisk until ..

..light and fluffy.

Add 2 eggs.

Whisk in until well combined.

Add 2 teaspoons non-alcoholic vanilla flavouring.

Whisk in.

Add 8 ounces self-raising flour.

Fold in to combine. Don't over beat the batter.

Pour the batter into a lined oven tray. Bake at Gas Mark 4 for 40 minutes.

Once baked, cool in the tray whilst you make the chocolate ganache.

Heat 1 carton double cream until just boiling. You can do this in the microwave or in a pan on the cooker.

To the hot cream, add 6 ounces milk chocolate and 6 ounces dark chocolate. Let it sit for a few minutes.

Whisk until all the chocolate is melted. Let the ganache sit for about 10 minutes to thicken slightly.

Place the cake onto a serving tray.

Pour the chocolate ganache over the cake. Let it set for 10 minutes.

Slice and enjoy! This cake is amazing by itself, and is even better with hot custard! Try it out - inshallah, you won't be disappointed.

Wasalaam!
