Peri Peri Chicken Goujons with Peri Peri Sauce

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!



This recipe is for Peri Peri Chicken Goujons with Peri Peri Sauce. If you love the peri peri flavour, then you'll love this dish. It is great served with fries or wedges.

A Simple List of Ingredients:

1. Red Onion
2. Red Bell Pepper
3. Spring Onions
4. Vegetable Oil
5. Garlic
6. Malt Vinegar
7. Peri Peri Sauce
8. Tomato Ketchup
9. An Egg
10. Cornflour
11. Plain Flour
12. Dried Parsley
13. Dried Basil
14. Salt and Pepper
15. Boneless Chicken Pieces

Bismillah, let's start!




First, to make the sauce, take 1 sliced red onion.




Take 1 sliced red bell pepper.




Take 1 bunch spring onions, sliced.




Heat a few tablespoons vegetable oil in a pan, and add the red onion, peppers and spring onions.




Stir-fry for 5 minutes until softened.




Add 2 sliced cloves garlic, and cook for 1 minute.




Add 1 tablespoon tomato ketchup.




Add 2 tablespoons peri peri sauce. You can add more if you like it spicier. 




Add 1 tablespoon malt vinegar, and season to taste with salt and pepper.
Stir and combine, and cook for 5 minutes.




Blend the sauce until smooth, and set aside whilst making the goujons. 




For the goujons, take 1 egg.




Add 2 tablespoons peri peri sauce




Whisk with a fork to combine, and set aside.




In a separate bowl, place 5 tablespoons cornflour




Add 2 tablespoons plain flour




Add 1 teaspoon dried parsley, and 1 teaspoon dried basil.




Season with salt and pepper, to taste. Stir to combine.




Dip each chicken piece in the egg mixture.




Then, coat in the flour mixture.




Place onto a plate whilst you do the rest.




Heat a few tablespoons vegetable oil in a pan, and add the chicken pieces.




Cook on a medium heat until golden brown and cooked.




Add the chicken goujons to the sauce, and heat through for a minute.




Serve straight away with fries or wedges and a salad!
