7. Mushrooms
8. Red Bell Pepper

Bismillah, let's start!

Take 1 pound boneless chicken pieces. You can cut them into strips if you want. This will help them cook faster.

Add 2 teaspoons Chinese Five Spice Powder. This can be found in the seasonings section at the supermarket.

Add 1 teaspoon soy sauce.

Add 2 tablespoons chilli sauce.

Stir to combine. This can be cooked with straight away, but if you have time, leave to marinade for a few hours.

Add 1 tablespoon cornflour.

Stir to combine.

Heat 2 tablespoons groundnut oil in a wok or large saucepan until smoking. You can use vegetable oil, if you want.

Add the chicken.

Stir-fry for 10 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through. Add a little water if the chicken sticks to the wok.

Next, take a handful sliced mushrooms

Take 1 sliced red bell pepper.

Take 1 carrot, sliced into matchsticks.

Take 2 sliced spring onions.

Add all the sliced vegetables to the wok.

Stir until combined.

Stir-fry for a few minutes.

Meanwhile, take 2 nests egg noodles.

Cook the noodles according to packet instructions.

Add the noodles to the wok.

Season with soy sauce, to taste. No salt is added to the chow mein because the soy sauce takes its place.

Season with black pepper, to taste.

Stir to combine.

Serve straight away!
