Cheese and Potato Nests

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!

This recipe is for Cheese and Potato Nests. These make a light meal served with a salad.

A Simple List of Ingredients:

1. Potatoes
2. Garlic
3. Onion
4. Bay Leaf
5. Vegetable Oil
6. Mature Cheddar Cheese
7. Salt and Pepper
8. Red Chilli Powder

Bismillah, let's start!

First, preheat the oven to Gas Mark 4.

Peel and finely slice 2 garlic cloves.

Peel and finely slice 1 onion.

Heat 2 tablespoons vegetable oil in a pan, and add the onion and garlic, along with 1 bay leaf

Cook until golden brown.

Peel and par-boil 5 potatoes for 5 minutes. Drain out the water, and cool. Grate the potato, and then add the onion and garlic mixture. Remove the bay leaf.

Add 4 ounces cubed mature Cheddar cheese.

Add salt and pepper, to taste.

Add red chilli powder, to taste.

Mix everything well to combine.

Spoon the mixture into a greased muffin tin.

Bake for 20 minutes in the preheated oven at Gas Mark 4, until golden brown and bubbling.

Serve warm!
