Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!

This is yet another biscuit recipe that proves homemade is way better than anything in the shops.

Once you've tried these, you'll never go back to the packet stuff.
This recipe makes about 20.

A Simple List of Ingredients:

2. Golden Syrup
3. Self-Raising Flour
4. Caster Sugar
5. Ground Ginger

7. Orange Zest
8. An Egg

Bismillah, let's begin!

First, preheat your oven to Gas Mark 3 / 160C

Place 5 ounces of Butter into a small saucepan.

Next, take some golden syrup.

Add 3 tablespoons of Golden Syrup to the butter in the saucepan. Heat them together over a very low heat.

Heat the butter and golden syrup together until the butter has melted.
Leave to cool.

Meanwhile, in a large mixing bowl, sift 12 ounces of Self-Raising Flour

To the flour, add 7 ounces of Caster Sugar.

The next ingredient is ground ginger.

Add 1 tablespoon of Ground Ginger to the flour and sugar.

The next ingredient is bicarbonate of soda.

Add 1 teaspoon of Bicarbonate of Soda to the mixing bowl.

Next, you need some grated orange zest. For this, you need an orange and a grater.

Grate about 1 teaspoon of Orange Zest.

Crack 1 Egg into a small bowl.

To the flour mixture, add the melted butter and syrup.

Add the egg.
