Chocolate Orange Muffins

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!

In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

This recipe is for Chocolate Orange Muffins.

Anybody who likes this flavour combination will love these muffins.

A Simple List of Ingredients:

1. Butter
2. Caster Sugar
3. An Egg
4. Vanilla Flavouring
5. An Orange
6. Self-Raising Flour
7. Cocoa Powder

 Bismillah, let's get started!

First, preheat the oven to Gas Mark 5.

First, place 3 ounces butter in a large mixing bowl. Make sure the butter is at room temperature.

Next, weigh out 3 ounces caster sugar.

Beat the two together until light and fluffy.

Next, take 1 egg.

And beat it in.

The next ingredient is vanilla flavouring.

Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla flavouring to the mixture.

Next, take 1 orange and a fine grater or zester.

And take the zest of 1 orange.

From the same orange, take the juice of 1 orange.

Add the zest and the juice to the mixture.

And mix them in. I know it looks a bit weird but this is how it's supposed to look.

The next ingredient is self-raising flour.

Weigh out 5 ounces self-raising flour.

Add the flour to the mixture.

Next, for the chocolate flavour, you need cocoa powder.

Add 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder.

Stir the flour and cocoa powder in.

Take a muffin tray and fill with muffin paper cases.

Fill the cases with the mixture not more than 3/4 full because they will rise in the oven.
Bake for 20 minutes in a preheated oven Gas Mark 5.

Serve with coffee or tea, or top with your favourite icing!
