December 2018: One Photo Everyday.

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!

In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Happy last day of 2018!
And, last day of December. I feel like December is always overlooked as everyone recaps the year instead of the month. My December has been a good one - full of new experiences and people. I'm looking forward to the new year and hope you are too. See you on the other side!

But first, here is my December 2018:

December 1: A giant pan of chicken sizzler.

December 2: Cooked this beef for 4 hours in the Instant Pot for sandwiches. I used this recipe!

December 3: This month has been the month of mitai. For some reason or other, there has been so much of it in the house. This box was to celebrate the arrival of my cousin's baby girl.

December 4: I put the leftover beef from December 2nd into cheesy cottage pies. A very similar shepherds version is here!

December 5: I had leftover lamb curry and used it to make my lazy pulao. I tried out the rice function on the Instant Pot. The rice was slightly mushy so I may have to tweak the cooking time next time.

December 6: Went to visit my cousin and her new baby. My Aunt had made my cousin a giant batch of her panjeeri to help her recover from the birth.

December 7: Friday teatime treat!

December 8: A late-night quick dinner in the form of my South Indian chicken stew with sweet and sour rice. I made the stew in the Instant Pot to speed things up.

December 9: Swirled Biscoff spread through these box brownies to make them extra special.

December 10: A busy day with house guests ended with me sorting out all the leftover food. This is zardah and you can find my recipe for it here!

December 11: Dinner time! Tonight, we ate chicken schnitzel + veg + smashed potatoes from this recipe.

December 12: Visiting my cousin and niece for a catch-up after school.

December 13: My mum cooked her classic vegetable curry with the addition of bell peppers and spinach. Delicious!

December 14: Fish and curly chip Friday.

December 15: I cooked this Bengali chicken potato curry today and it was so good!

December 16: Forever chopping onions. 😭

December 17: Trying to (unsuccessfully) hide in her house.

December 18: Pizza night!

December 19: Mum's lamb shorba for dinner with fresh roti.

December 20: Went to visit my nieces and nephews armed with a batch of double chocolate brownie cookies.

December 21: The best thing I ate this month was this veggie pizza. My version today had grated courgette, sliced peppers, sliced mushrooms, sliced red onion and sweetcorn. So good fresh from the oven!

December 22: Saturday night noodle experiment. Not the best, unfortunately.

December 23: Congratulations to my cousin on her Nikah!

December 24: A fresh batch of cinnamon rolls. I used this recipe!

December 25: Roast lamb with mint sauce. I'm still perfecting my recipe so won't be sharing just yet.

December 26: Someone is uncharacteristically shy today.

December 27: Ready to make chicken twister wraps.

December 28: A vegan treat - vada pav sandwiches.

December 29: I haven't really baked much this month except for this sticky toffee pudding. I used this recipe!

December 30: My mum makes the best chicken kebabs. An old recipe of hers is here.

December 31: The new year stands before us, like a chapter in a book, waiting to be written.

Keep me in your duas please!

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!
