June 2018: One Photo Everyday.

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!

In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

How's your June heatwave going?
This entire week has been full of blue skies and hot sunshine. So much so, that I even forgot that June ends this weekend. It's July tomorrow, if you can believe it. For me, June has been the longest month. With Ramadan continuing, my Mum being in hospital, Ramadan ending, Eid, back to our normal routine, and now this Summer heatwave, June really has been the longest month.

Here is one photo from everyday this month:

June 1: this is the month where the sweetest smelling mock orange flowers are in full bloom at the bottom of the garden.

June 2: crispy sweet chilli chicken burgers for Iftar.

June 3: balling all the melons.

June 4: mum's delicious chicken manchurian.

June 5: mini cheesecakes for my annual Ramadan sweet treat gifts.

June 6: started my second paint-by-numbers after spilling coffee on the last one!

June 7: flowers in the sun.

June 8: keeping food warm before Iftar.

June 9: hospital views. 😩

June 10: mango milkshake always tastes better at Iftar time.

June 11: a pastry plait stuffed with cheese and Summer courgettes.

June 12: just had to take a picture of this lone but stunning flower on the garden path.

June 13: cheese and onion pie for Iftar. the pastry was a bit crumbly but the filling was insane!

June 14: preparations for Eid.

June 15: a simple but summery Eid Al-Fitr lunch.

June 16: so happy to finally have ice cream in the sunshine. this was a creme caramel gelato from Aldi and I think it may be my favourite ice cream of Summer 2018.

June 17: making a sweet soy sauce for wontons.

June 18: my runner beans are getting started.

June 19: my first time trying this rose kulfi.

June 20: the lightest ricotta blinis for breakfast with honey, orange, and sea salt.

June 21: literally stopping in the hospital grounds to smell (and photograph) the roses.

June 22: you know it's Summer when my lolly maker comes out. this year's offering were these creamy chocolate coffee lollies.

June 23: saucy chicken for chicken pittas with spicy garlic sauce.

June 24: baklava from Istanbul. the ones on the far left were my favourite!

June 25: salmon bake for a sunny Monday.

June 26: more summery foods to get through the June heatwave.

June 27: I think I might need a bigger pan.

June 28: chops and chips.

June 29: a cold lunch in the shade.

June 30: Saturday burgers.

Keep me in your duas please!

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!
