Current Favourites #9: Bangers, Mash and More!

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!

In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Yay, I finally posted something in 2018!
Apologies for the lack of posts this past week.
I'm afraid I've been sick with a cold and cough. The first week of 2018 has gone by in a haze of tissues, Vicks and hot tea and I'm still not fully better. I have so many new recipes to shoot and share with you all so as soon as I'm better, look out for them. In the meantime, a current favourites post for you.

Baking up my version of an English breakfast.
With potatoes, eggs, mushrooms and tomatoes.

Putting sweetcorn, broccoli and mushrooms into my ...

Lights, flowers and candles to brighten up these dark Winter days.

Potato and ginger shorba with boiled eggs because we're all ill.

Another version of Texas chocolate sheet cake but with sprinkles instead of pecans.

I threw in peppers and onions with my marinaded smoky chicken tikka.
The chicken was cooked off, smoked and ...
.... stuffed into a pitta. I have another epic chicken pitta recipe for you here!

My first time making bangers and mash!
I made a herb mash with fresh parsley and chives.
I used these halal sausages and served the whole thing with plenty of onion gravy.

Salmon parcels ready to wrap and bake.

An achari whole roast chicken for a hot Winter dinner.
The chicken was roasted with lots of yoghurt and achari spices until crisp.
On the side, red cabbage cooked down with apples, vinegar and spices.
Par-boiled potatoes going into roast with garlic and butter until ...
... golden and crispy.
Greens on the go!
Spinach and peas with lemon and butter.
Finally, buttered carrots with parsley.
The best plate on a cold night.

Weekend pancakes.
I had a little ricotta leftover in the fridge and used it up to make fluffy ricotta pancakes.
With strawberry preserve and golden syrup.

A little sunshine on these very short, dark days.

My take on a Western omelette for an easy dinner one night with cooked potatoes and beans.

Keep me in your duas please!

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!
