Current Favourites #4: Homemade Pasta and More!

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!

In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

That's right, I finally used my new pasta machine.
And, it was so much easier than expected. We made lasagne sheets this time for a beef lasagne but I can't wait to make ravioli and tagliatelle with the machine. Hope you've had a good week!

Here's more from mine:

Ever since I first made this chicken traybake, I've been loving meals that can be made in one tray in the oven. This one, is roasted potatoes and shallots which are then topped with lamb kebabs/sausages that I flavoured up with Greek spices.
Once everything was golden and brown, on went an entire bag of rocket. I've never been a fan of raw rocket but by stirring it into the hot potatoes made it wilted and not so strong.
Stirred up with lemon juice.
And, served up with cumin yoghurt.

Cosy masoor and moong daal with buttered roti on a stormy Saturday. The best with spicy achar pickle.

Guys, this week we tried out a French toast grilled cheese sandwich.
And yes, it was as good as it sounds.

Sunday burgers!
This time, with beef mince.
Brioche bun + beef burger + burger sauce + tomatoes + American cheese + lettuce + gherkins.

Also this week, I put marshmallows into a milkshake. Why did I not do this sooner?!
This picture but guys, it was literally the best milkshake ever.

Our snack corner in the kitchen. This week: chocolate dipped honeycomb + cappuccino + tangerines + apples + dates + plums + pears + seeds for cereal and yoghurt.

This week, we had a few days that were just miserable. I'm talking dark, grey skies and nothing else. Comfort food was called for so I finally got round to using my pasta machine and whipping up a homemade beef lasagne from scratch.
The beef simmered low and slow for nearly 4 hours and was well worth it.
Fresh lasagne sheets. Much easier to make than I first thought!
The bechamel was flavoured with nutmeg and garlic.
One for dinner and one for the freezer!
Just what was needed on a miserable Autumn evening.

My favourite colours being planted.

Fridge leftovers (carrot, cabbage, American cheese) being put to good use in an egg toast sandwich.

Guys, I made a stew this week. Aren't the colours so autumnal? The stew was packed with harissa, Turkish chilli paste, chicken, carrots, pigeon peas and lots more.
Served with saffron rice flavoured with orange, pistachio and almond.

Not had these biscuits for years!
They were just as I remember.

I tried these frozen pain au chocolat from Iceland this week.
Not bad!

Beautiful Friday afternoon skies.

My favourite tree in the garden right now.
