Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!
This recipe is for a Strawberry and Orange Summer Tiramisu. A tiramisu is a classic Italian dessert made of sponge cakes dipped in coffee, layered with a whipped mixture of egg yolks and mascarpone cheese and flavoured with cocoa.
The version I have made is a summer one with sponge dipped in orange syrup, layered with strawberries and a whipped vanilla cream. It is extremely fresh and tasty, and perfect as a make ahead dessert for Iftar - allowing extra time for prayer before the fast breaks.

List of Ingredients:
1. Large Box of Strawberries
2. One Orange
3. Five Tablespoons Sugar
4. 500 grams Mascarpone Cheese
5. Small Carton of Double Cream
6. One Vanilla Pod or One Teaspoon of Vanilla Flavouring
7. Two Tablespoons Icing Sugar
8. One Sponge Cake
Bismillah, let's begin!
First, to make the orange syrup, place the zest of one orange into a saucepan.
Add 5 tablespoons sugar.
And, add the juice of one orange.
Place the pan on a medium and bring to the boil, and then cook on a low heat until the sugar has all dissolved. Allow the syrup to then cool.
Next, take two 250 gram containers of mascarpone cheese.
Place into a mixing bowl.
Add a small carton of double cream.
Add 2 tablespoons icing sugar.
Add the seeds of a vanilla pod or 1 teaspoon vanilla flavouring.
Mix until smooth, creamy and well combined.
Next, roughly chop a large box of strawberries.
Take a normal sized sponge cake, and slice into fingers. You can bake and then cool your own cake or buy one.
Dip both sides of the sponge fingers in the orange syrup, and then place a layer of them in a large serving bowl.
Top with a layer of chopped strawberries.
Spread on a layer of the cream mixture.
Repeat layering until the strawberries, sponge and cream are finished. Place in the fridge to chill for about an hour, and then serve straight away!
Wasalaam!
