Fresh Mint Chutney

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!



This recipe is for Fresh Mint Chutney. It is a really versatile chutney that can be made in bulk and then kept in the fridge to use with anything. You could even freeze it as well, and then defrost when needed and mix into yoghurt.

A Simple List of Ingredients:

1. Fresh Mint
2. Fresh Coriander
3. Green Mango
4. Garlic
5. Green Chillies
6. Dried Pomegranate Seeds
7. Onion
8. Salt
9. Ground Cumin
10. Crushed Red Chilli
11. Water


Bismillah, let's begin!


Take 1 bunch fresh mint.



Remove all the stalks until you only have the mint leaves.



In a large mixing bowl, place 8 green chillies, roughly chopped.



Add the mint leaves ..



.. 8 peeled garlic cloves ..



.. 1 bunch coriander ..



.. 1 green mango ..



.. peeled and cut into small chunks ..



.. 1 peeled and roughly chopped onion ..



Take dried pomegranate seeds ..



Add 1 tablespoon dried pomegranate seeds.



Add salt, to taste.



Add 1 teaspoon ground cumin.



And 1 teaspoon crushed red chilli.



Blend whilst adding in enough water to make a thick paste. You could blend this is a jug blender or use a hand held blender. 



The chutney is ready to serve, but make sure to taste and adjust seasoning.
