Key Lime Pie

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!



This recipe is for a Key Lime Pie. It is an American dessert made using lime juice and condensed milk. It is usually baked but this recipe is a no-bake version. The pie is the perfect balance of sweet and sour. 

A Simple List of Ingredients:

1. Digestive Biscuits
2. Sugar
3. Butter
4. Condensed Milk
5. Lime Zest
6. Lime Juice
7. Double Cream
8. Vanilla Flavouring
9. Icing Sugar
10. Fresh Limes

Bismillah, let's begin!



To make the base, take 6 ounces crushed digestive biscuit




Add 1 ounce sugar.




Add 2 ounces melted butter.




Mix until well combined.




Pour the mixture into a fluted pie dish.




Press the mixture in evenly, making sure to include the edges. Place in the fridge to set.




Next, to make the filling, take a can of condensed milk.




Pour the condensed milk into a bowl.




Take 8 fluid ounces fresh lime juice.




Add the lime juice to the condensed milk.




Take the zest of 1 lime.




Add the zest to the bowl.




Whisk the mixture until just thick, and well combined.




Pour the mixture onto the prepared biscuit base. 




Smooth out the lime mixture. Place in the fridge for a few hours until set.




To make the topping, take 586ml double cream, 3 tablespoons icing sugar and 2 teaspoon vanilla flavouring.




Whip the cream until soft peaks form.




Spread the cream topping, onto the set lime mixture. Place back into the fridge, for another few hours, until fully set.




To garnish, slice 1 lime into wedges.




Decorate the pie with the lime wedges.




This pie is a refreshing end to any meal. Slice and enjoy!
