Today has been one of those cold and crisp winter days. The sun has been shining yet the frost still hasn't gone. Today was the perfect day to bake these amazing cookies. They contain, in my opinion, the fundamental winter flavours of chocolate and cinnamon. These are the best, piping hot out of the oven.
This recipe makes approximately 15 cookies.
A Simple List of Ingredients:
1. Plain Flour
2. Orange Flavouring
3. Ground Cinnamon
4. Caster Sugar
5. Butter
6. An Egg
7. Milk Chocolate Chips
Bismillah, let's begin!
Place 8 ounces softened butter into a large mixing bowl. My butter is a bit too softened but it's okay!
Add 5 ounces caster sugar to the butter.
Beat together until light and fluffy.
Next, take 1 egg yolk. Add to the butter mixture and beat in.
Next, take orange natural flavouring.
Add 2 teaspoons orange flavouring.
And stir to combine.
Weigh out 10 ounces plain flour.
And using a sieve, sift the flour into the mixture.
Next, take milk chocolate chips.
Add 4 ounces chocolate chips to the mixture.
Stir until combined.
In a separate small bowl, place 2 tablespoons caster sugar.
To the sugar, add 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon.
Stir the two together and you have your very own cinnamon sugar.
Take a tablespoon of cookie dough and roll into a ball and then flatten. Coat both sides in cinnamon sugar.
And place on a greased baking tray.
And place on a greased baking tray.
Repeat the above method with all the cookies until you have a full baking tray.
Repeat the above method with all the cookies until you have a full baking tray.
Bake in a preheated oven at Gas Mark 5 for 15 minutes.
Leave the cookies to cool on the baking tray for 10 minutes and then transfer to a wire rack.
But you won't be able to resist eating these warm out of the oven. The smell of warm cinnamon and chocolate in your kitchen is the perfect way to battle these cold winter days!
