Iced Coffee.

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!

In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

The perfect drink for your summer mornings!
I am most definitely a coffee person.
I'm not like an addict or anything but I have to have my one cup in the morning to basically wake up and survive the rest of the day.
All year round, I have hot coffee in the morning. But during the summer, when the days are long and the birds in the garden are still tweeting at 8pm, a little iced coffee in the afternoon sunshine is just what I need.
And, it could not be easier to make. I make mine with coffee granules because it's what I have in the cupboard but if you want to use freshly ground coffee, go for it. We start with a coffee concentrate which you can keep in the fridge for a few days using as you need it. It's so easy and is just a mix of hot water, coffee and sugar. Once everything has dissolved together, it's time to let it chill.
Then, whenever you're in the mood for a cold caffeine kick, simply fill up your glass with ice, add your cold coffee and top with milk. Done!

A Simple List of Ingredients:

For the Coffee Concentrate:

1. Water
2. Coffee Granules
3. Sugar

To Serve:

1. Ice
2. Milk

Bismillah, let's begin!

We start by making the coffee concentrate and that starts by boiling the kettle.

Measure out 500ml Boiling Water into a heatproof jug.

Let the water sit for 5 minutes to let it cool a little. We don't want to be adding the coffee to water that is too hot.

By the way, do you see that rain falling outside? The weather did not get my summery vibe the day I shot this iced coffee.

Before we get to measuring, this is the tablespoon I used to measure my coffee and sugar. You can do both of them to your own taste.

For the coffee, I used these coffee granules.

Into the hot water, place 2 tablespoons Coffee Granules. You may add as much or as little as you want.

And, 3 tablespoons Sugar.

I like to add the sugar at this point so that it can dissolve into the liquid.

Stir everything to combine.

And, our coffee concentrate is done!

At this point, it needs to cool completely before it can be used.

It will keep in the fridge for a few days. Here is some that I made earlier and had stored in a bottle in the fridge.

To make the actual iced coffee, grab the concentrate, ice and milk.

Fill a few glasses with ice.

For an extra coffee hit, freeze some of the coffee concentrate in ice cube trays and use those as ice cubes instead.

Pour the coffee over ice.

And, top with milk!

Pop in a straw and stir!

These cupcakes will be coming your way soon. That buttercream is a whipped Nutella buttercream. Yes, it is as good as it sounds!

Serve the iced coffee straight away and enjoy!
