Macaroni Cheese

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!

This recipe is for Macaroni Cheese - one of the ultimate comfort foods. As the nights get longer and colder, make one of these for a quick but satisfying weeknight dinner. Plus it only requires six ingredients - what's not to love?

A Simple List of Ingredients:

1. Macaroni Pasta
2. Butter
3. Plain Flour
4. Milk
5. Salt and Pepper
6. Cheddar Cheese

Bismillah, let's begin!

First, take nine ounces macaroni pasta. You can use any other pasta shape too.

Cook the pasta in boiling salted water for about 10 minutes.

While the pasta is cooking, make the sauce. Place 1 and 1/2 tablespoons butter into a saucepan ..

.. and melt!

Add 1 and 1/2 tablespoons plain flour.

Cook the butter and flour together for one minute, stirring constantly.

Take one pint milk.

Gradually add the milk.

Cook the sauce until thick and creamy - about 5 minutes.

Add 8 ounces grated Cheddar cheese.

Stir until the cheese has melted.

Season with salt and pepper, to taste. Do not add too much salt as the cheese can be quite salty.

At this point, the pasta should be cooked.

Pour the cheese sauce over the pasta, and stir gently.

Place the pasta mixture into an oven dish.

Grate on more Cheddar cheese.

Sprinkle on more black pepper.

Place in a hot oven or grill and bake until the cheese has melted and is golden brown - about 5-7 minutes.
Serve immediately!

Wasalaam!
