Grilled Cheese and Salami Sandwich

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!

In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

This "recipe" for Grilled Cheese and Salami Sandwich is one of my favourite lunch treats.

It's the simple things in life that are always the best. And, what is more simple than a sandwich? Sandwiches have always been a go-to meal in our house and the rest of the world.
In this one, I used a ciabatta bread but normal bread would work too. Swap the salami for leftover cooked meats and add in your favourite cheese for a yummy lunch. The combination of salami on toasted bread with melting, gooey cheese is really good.
Slice up a little salad for freshness and crunch and you're good to go!

Ingredients needed are ciabatta bread, chicken salami, Cheddar cheese, tomatoes and cucumber.

Bismillah, let's begin!

First, grab your bread. I used Ciabatta because I had it in the freezer.

Slice the bread in half through the middle.

Slice on Cheddar cheese, to taste. After I made this, I realised it would be better to grate the cheese rather than slice it.

Next, the salami which I just figured is actually called polony. Anyway, I used this Chicken Polony.

Thinly slice it and place on to the bread. If you have time, crisp the polony up in a frying pan.

Add a little more cheese.

Pop on the bread lid.

And, get your grill or panini press heated up. We have this George Foreman one.

Once the grill is hot, place on the sandwiches.

Grill the sandwiches until crispy on the outside and melted in the middle.

Place them onto the board.

Slice in half.

Serve with up any fresh salad.

I'm pretty boring with the usual cucumber and tomato. But they do compliment this sandwich well!
