Creamy Barfi Fudge

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!

This recipe is for Creamy Barfi Fudge. Barfi is a traditional Pakistani sweet. Usually we buy it from shops, but I tried to make it at home. The taste was the same but the texture was a bit soft and more like a fudge - perfect to eat with a spoon!

A Simple List of Ingredients:

1. Sugar
2. Water
3. Butter
4. Cardamom Powder or Seeds
5. Milk Powder

Bismillah, let's start!

The measurement used for this recipe is a normal tea cup.

Take 3/4 cup sugar

Place the sugar into a pan.

Take 1/2 cup water.

Add the water to the sugar. Place the pan on a medium heat.

Add 2 ounces butter.

Bring to the boil.

Add 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder. I didn't have any so I used the seeds from 3 green cardamoms. You could crush the seeds if you want.

Add to the mixture in the pan.

Boil the mixture until a thick syrup forms.

Next, take 1 cup milk powder.

Add a little of the milk powder.

Stir to combine.

Add the rest of the milk powder.

Mix to combine.

Keep cooking it until it coats the back of a spoon.

Boil and stir the mixture continuously until it thickens and leaves the side of the pan to form a ball.

Place the thick mixture into any dish.

Allow it to set for a few hours or overnight in the fridge.

Slice and enjoy with a cup of Pakistani tea!

Wasalaam!
